Spanish value investing boutique Azvalor Asset Management continues expanding its analysis team with the appointment of Paul Gait.

Gait, recognised within the industry as one of the best commodity analysts from the sell-side, joins Azvalor office in London as a senior analyst.

He will help to strengthen Azvalor’s research capabilities in the mining and commodities industry by working with Michael Alsalem in London, and reporting to colleagues Álvaro Guzmán de Lázaro, and Fernando Bernad in Madrid.

Paul began his career in financial services in 2000 as a Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company, he was then recruited by the HM Treasury as a Tax Policy Advisor before joining Anglo American in 2003. He left Anglo American in 2011 to join Sandford Bernstein.

The firm has made three more appointments to its analysis team recently. Last year in August, Azvalor appointed Filipe Rosa and Arnaud Laigre de Grainville as a senior analyst and a member of its investment team, respectively.

Philip Ngotho has previously joined in May. Previous roles include senior equity analyst at ABM AMRO, specialist in commodities and in the mining sector, and senior consultant for Deloitte Financial Advisory Services.
